DIGESTIVE ENDOSCOPY

Digestive endoscopy, thanks to instruments of different caliber and length depending on the region to be examined, is able to explore much of the digestive system, highlighting in detail the upper digestive tract (esophagus, stomach and duodenum) (rectum, eileum colon). In this way it is possible to follow the patient examination directly on the monitor and store images of the different pathologies. The importance of endoscopy lies in the fact that with it can also be carried out operational interventions such as the removal of polyps of the intestine, removal of ingested foreign bodies, stopping digestive bleeding. Such interventions are usually performed outpatient, with a reduced disturbance for patients, which can thus avoid actual surgeries and a subsequent hospital stay.

The Endoscopy Service shares the objectives that the hospital sets itself, in compliance with the current legislation, by providing skills, resources and equipment in order to combine clinical results with the attention to the citizen-user.
